If you'd rather watch cars run than just sit parked, tonight's plan is up north. MEET & DRAG at Arecibo Motorsports is this Friday, October 30, 2026. It's organized by Team Chama and combines a meet with passes on the track. Here are the event page details, what to expect and how to show up prepared.

What a "meet & drag" is
It mixes two plans: a car meet, where people show and hang out, and drag passes on a closed track, where cars actually run with control and safety. It's the right way to scratch the itch to accelerate: on the track, not on the street.
The page says registration to race is free. What it doesn't publish is how passes are organized, whether there are classes or prizes. Team Chama confirms that on social media or at the gate. We don't invent classes or brackets.
If you're racing
- Arrive when gates open (7:00 p.m.). It gives you time to register, park and get set before the event starts at 8:00.
- Check the basics at home. Correct tire pressure, nothing loose in the trunk or cabin, no fluid leaks and a secured battery.
- Bring your license and documents. Tracks usually require a valid driver's license to race. If you're unsure what's required, ask ahead.
- Listen to staff. On track, staff is in charge: where to wait, when to enter the line and how to return.
- If it's your first time at a drag event, learn how the starting tree and reaction time work. This Saturday we publish a beginner's guide to bracket racing.
If you're a spectator
- Bring the $10 entry and confirm with the organizer whether they take cash, ATH Móvil or card.
- Hearing protection, especially if you bring kids.
- A light layer and water: it's at night and the wait can be long.
- Stay in spectator areas. Don't cross racing or staging zones.
- Look, ask, and don't touch other people's cars without permission.
Arecibo Motorsports this weekend
Arecibo has a Halloween double-header. Tonight is MEET & DRAG, and tomorrow, Saturday the 31st, is THE PURGE: Drag Meet Night at Arecibo Motorsport. If you want to do both nights, read our THE PURGE spectator guide and our Arecibo Motorsports guide with venue tips.
And if you want more, the track stays busy in November: the Bracket Points Championship is Saturday, November 7 at 2:00 p.m. and Nissan vs Todos is Sunday the 15th.
Race on the track, not the street
Events like this exist so speed has its place. In Puerto Rico, racing on public roads carries a $5,000 fine and license suspension on a first conviction, according to the Law 22 summary published by CESCO. If you have a fast car, the track is your place.
